Book List Links

There are many resources available with book lists. The American Library Association (ALA) is one source for a variety of book lists. For example, you can find out what the Newberry Honor books are (click here for list) which are primarily chapter books for the middle grade readers. The ALA also lists the Caldecott Award books which are primarily picture books but for all ages (click here for list). The ALA also recognizes authors for all kinds of juvenile literature through the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award (click here for list).

Another website that is not commercial (is not listing books for commercial sales) is called Goodreads. I use Goodreads to keep track of all the books I've read and want to read. It is is a social on-line community with a variety of resources. The resources include book lists for kids. So, consider this source for book choices also (click here for the many book lists).

Of course, the Barnes and Noble web site and Amazon will have book lists of titles that either have high sales or there is a contract to push the book sale. And, there is also on-line the New York Times Best Seller's List (click here for the children's books). Random House has an on-line book list for kids that includes a book finder tool to narrow your search on what kind of book you are looking for (click here for link).

If you are looking for a particular book in the Elko-Lander-Eureka County Library system, you can search the on-line catalog. You can also make a request on-line and have it delivered to the West Wendover Branch Library. Click here for the Elko Library link. There are also e-books for all ages available. You will need the Libby app. Zinnio magazines are also available. For the digital download information, click this sentence.

Many more on-line book lists are out there. These are just a few resources I chose for juvenile books. While working on this blog, I've come upon other book sites for kids and parents. See below for additional resource discoveries:
